Homemade Detox Body Scrub
250ml container (if used daily and economically it can last up to two weeks)
- Fill 4/5 of the container with natural rock salt and 1/5 oatmeal
- Mix both ingredients before adding more or less 100ml baby oil and shake the container vigorously
- Add 20 drops of each of the following pure essential oils: rosemary, peppermint and lemon grass
Cautions, alternatives and tips:
- Avoid face and neck as the skin is to sensitive in those area.
- Some say baby oil should not be used because it is not hydrating enough. I used it because it is cheap. Use any natural massage oil instead.
- If Rock salt is too harsh for your skin use sea salt, kosher salt, Epsom salts (All salts have detoxifying and muscle-relaxing properties).
- More gentle for the skin is sugar (white, brown, granulated sugar, sugar cane etc…); you could use 1/2 sugar and 1/2 salt.
- Instead of salt or sugar use coffee.
- Use a light container which you can easily close tightly to use after your shower at the gym or swimming pool.
- Take into account your skin sensitivity and do not use ingredients that you are allergic to.
- It is not recommended to use daily. If you become addicted like me, use it every other day and use smaller amounts.
- Be creative and invent your own body scrub which suits your skin and spirit needs.
